Solitary is a romantic, turn-of-the-century Blue Mountains cottage decorated in fresh, contemporary tones, set in a landscaped garden. Its unique and immense view all the way to the Southern Highlands is astonishing. The space, the minute to minute play of light on the mountains and the changing cloud-scape are awe-inspiring and up-lifting.
We cater magnificent, award-winning cuisine for small to large weddings, either indoors or under a marquee in our garden.
The Ceremony
You can hold your wedding ceremony on the lawn at Solitary. It removes much of the fuss regarding the use of two venues, and you won't find a view much better than ours. Champagne and hors d'oeuvres can then be served on the lawn immediately following the ceremony…..so your guests are being looked after while you take advantage of the spectacular views for your wedding photographs.
Ceremony fee: $220 for 45 minutes
Menus
Our menu is based on the freshest seasonal produce available and consequently changes often. As to what is available in the month of your wedding, we would confer several weeks prior to the event. We offer a choice of two options per course served as alternates. For more information, select the 'sample menus' tab above.
Cost per head: Approximately $79.00 for 3 courses.

Hors D'oevre
Please see our sample cocktail menu under the Sample Menus tab for a list of hors d'oeuvres available. Hors D'oeuvre can be served outside in the garden as you and your guests enjoy the view on arrival or after your ceremony.
Cost per head: from $4.40 per person per item. 1.5 items per person.
Wines
Solitary offers competitive wine and alcohol packages. For more information, select the 'beverages' tab above.
Other alcoholic beverages
Solitary is fully licensed. If you have any special requests, please ask and we'll make sure we have it in stock. We can keep a tab or guests can pay as they go for spirits and liqueurs.
Bookings
You can book your wedding for lunch or dinner any day of the week.
Seating capacity
Up to 55 people in the restaurant. If you're planning a wedding larger than 55, please see our prices for a marquee in the garden.
To book out the restaurant
Minimum of 55 people for a Saturday night or the Sunday night of a long-weekend and
Minimum of 45 people at other times
Lunch time weddings will have sole use of the “Restaurant Area” but you may wish to pay a fee to have our kiosk closed for the day, which gives you private access to the whole site for your lunch time wedding. This is not applicable for night time weddings
Mimimum of 3 courses
Smaller weddings
Smaller weddings may be held on one of the verandahs or in our Kiosk (use of kiosk, evening only).
Venue hours
Lunch - 12 noon to 4.30pm
Dinner - 6.30pm to 11pm
Seating arrangements
You should provide name cards if you want them. We will give you a table plan prior to the day so you can make seating allocations.
Live Music
If you book out the restaurant, you may like to arrange to have live musicians to play at your wedding or function. Please ask us if you would like our advice on some wonderful local musicians.
Recorded Music
If you book out the restaurant, you can bring your own CD's that we will play for you. At Solitary we have a good selection of jazz and classical music.

Wedding Cake
You may like to have your wedding cake served as the dessert for your wedding lunch or dinner. Please see our sample wedding menu for an example of this.

Consultation fee
After booking and during the lead up to your wedding, Solitary will charge a consultation fee for personal consultations and communications with the organiser regarding the finalisation of all your wedding details.
Consultation rate - $66 per hour
Late stay fee
A charge of $250 per hour or part thereof will apply if guests stay beyond the regular operating times stated in Venue Hours.
Deposit
We require a deposit of 30% of the total fee excluding alcohol to secure the booking. In the event of cancellation of your function, this deposit will be retained by Solitary in accordance with the following paragraph.
Cancellation fee
If we are notified:
At least 2 months prior- $100
Less than 2 months and more than 1 month prior- $250
Less than one month prior- your deposit will be forfeited.
GST
GST is included in all quoted prices.
We want your special day to be unique so any requests will be catered to if possible.
